Squall Leonhart from Final Fantasy VIII (Playstation, 1999) created by SquareSoft of Tokyo.

The Dog and the Boy from The Secret of Evermore (SNES; October, 1995), released by SquareSoft USA of Redmond, Washington.
A lot of people seem to hate this game for crapping all over the Secret of Mana legacy, but I have mostly good memories. Between this and that horrible Final Fantasy movie, however, it doesn’t seem like Square America has had a lot of success wooing their countrymen.
